A Message From The Directors
Dear Friends of The Laurels,
In our combined many (many) years in the Care Sector we have witnessed a cycle of global economic and geo political challenges that have threatened the day to day operation and smooth running of our home.
We have witnessed recession, terrorism, war and very recently prolonged Brexit negotiations. The speed and severity of the Global Pandemic known as Covid – 19 Virus is like nothing we have seen before.
We want to re assure you that the health and well being of all our Residents and Staff Teams alike remain our primary focus.
We remain committed to delivering the very best level of care, both physical and emotional to the those entrusted into our care.
I am sure you will aware that the Government are issuing updated guidelines on a daily basis, we will continue to respond, adapt and implement any practices and protocols as directed.

This is not an easy time for any of us, as this unenviable situation continues to unfold but we are committed to the welfare of everyone at The Laurels and look forward to the day when we can say life is a little more normal.

Our philosophy
At The Laurels care home, we believe compassionate care requires building on our employees skills through teamwork, transparency and shared experiences, where we all strive together for the best outcomes to provide a standard of excellence, which embraces fundamental principles of good practice.
Our Residents have given to Society and paid their dues – in return we believe it’s our duty to place them at the centre of all we do, caring for them with dignity and respect; a hallmark of the The Laurels philosophy.
Our Accommodation
From our level access reception area, all rooms are easily accessible with wide corridors and a passenger lift to the first floor.
All 31 bedrooms are light and airy, the majority which (as time allows) are currently being re-decorated to a high standard, with a large number having views onto the garden and patio areas.
Most rooms are available with an en-suite facility and furniture is provided, however residents can bring in their own if they would prefer.
For rooms without en-suite facilities we have separate bathrooms, a shower room and wet room which are all well equipped
Our extensive re-furbishment program has transformed our former day areas into a new library, plus a large quiet and airy sitting room.
In addition, we have completely refurbished the dining area, which opens up onto our large conservatory, enjoying views across the garden which is perfect for those residents who may miss their own.
The recently renovated central patio provides comfortable outdoor space, with ample seating for both our Residents and visitors.
The extensive day areas allow for both relaxation and a full programme of activities for all of our Residents, undertaken by our full time ‘activities co-ordinator’.
